Treasury minister David Gauke on cutting tax rules

Treasury minister David Gauke explains government plans to bring in a revised tax code that should be "simpler and easier to operate".

He was asked why there has been so little progress so far but the minister claimed the government was "moving in the right direction"

American economist Irwin Stelzer compared UK tax rules to social engineering and claimed doing business in London was expensive. He said the revised code would only benefit accountants, and not the business community.
