Bishop defends Rowan Williams' political intervention

The Archbishop of Canterbury has attacked government policy, while guest editing the left-leaning New Statesman magazine.

Dr Rowan Williams criticised the coalition's flagship welfare reforms and branded the PM's Big Society "stale".

Bishop of Leicester Tim Stevens defended the Archbishop's intervention on the BBC News Channel.
