Cameron defends sentencing policy change

Proposals to give prisoners who plead guilty at the earliest stage 50% off their jail sentences have been dropped, David Cameron has said.

He made the announcement during a press conference at 10 Downing Street.

Mr Cameron defended the change in policy, saying the government had listened and improved the plans.
