Portillo praises David Cameron's 'move to centre'

The former Conservative cabinet minister, Michael Portillo, has praised the Prime Minister's speech to his party's conference in Manchester.

David Cameron addressed delegates on the final day of the event, covering topics ranging from the economy to gay marriage.

Mr Portillo said that although it was not an "unambiguous move", Mr Cameron was "to some extent dragging his party to the centre of British politics."
