Police Federation's Simon Reed on swearing at officers

The Police Federation is against a legal ruling from Mr Justice Bean that says people should not be prosecuted for swearing at officers because foul language is so frequently used.

Simon Reed from the Police Federation said people were initially warned to stop swearing but they should not be allowed to carry on.

He said most moderate people did not swear in public and added: "You have to have a sanction at some point - you can't allow this behaviour to go unchecked."
