Press Complaints Commission's David Hunt on regulation

Lord Hunt called for a new press regulator and admitted he could be the last chairman of the Press Complaints Commission (PCC), just as he takes over the body.

The former Tory MP David Hunt said the PCC was not a regulator, but a mechanism for dealing with complaints.

He said he wanted to be a blank piece of paper and learn from lessons of the past, as press regulation was highlighted by phone hacking allegations being aired at the Leveson Inquiry.
