Chancellor George Osborne on how the scheme will work

The government says it will underwrite bank loans worth at least £20bn to small and medium-sized businesses over the next two years.

The Chancellor, George Osborne, will give the full details of his plans in his autumn statement on Tuesday.

Speaking on the BBC's The Andrew Marr show, he explained how part of the scheme would work.
