Police hacking probe to cost £40m, deputy mayor tells Leveson

The Leveson inquiry into press standards has heard that the police investigation into phone hacking is forecast to cost around £40m.

The deputy mayor of London, Kit Malthouse, told the Inquiry it was why he had questioned the levels of resources into the investigation.

Mr Malthouse had faced calls to resign after a former Met Commissioner revealed his interventions.
