Hunt defends handling of News Corporation's BSkyB bid

The Culture Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, has resisted calls to resign, faced with allegations that he secretly backed Mr Murdoch's bid to take over BSkyB.

In a statement to MPs, Mr Hunt said he followed due process strictly, but one of his key aides has resigned.

Adam Smith admitted that he had gone too far in his dealings with Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, creating the perception that it was too close to Mr Hunt's office.

Nick Robinson reports on another setback for the government.
