PM under pressure over EU referendum

David Cameron has come under renewed pressure to commit to a quick referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union after opposition from Tory backbenchers and an intervention from a former cabinet minister.

Liam Fox, the former Defence Secretary, called for an immediate renegotiation of Britain's relationship with Brussels and said, if that failed, the government should consider leaving altogether.
