Ed Miliband speech 'must convince voters he can lead'

Ed Miliband is preparing to give what is being described as a "very personal" speech at the Labour conference, in an effort to convince people he has what it takes to win a general election and lead the UK.

A party political broadcast makes much of Mr Miliband's education in a standard comprehensive school, but a recent poll also suggests that few see him as prime ministerial or a natural leader.

James Landale reports.
