Channing Day: PM pays tribute to medic killed in Afghanistan

The Prime Minister has paid tribute to a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan last week.

Cpl Channing Day, 25, of 3 Medical Regiment and Cpl David O'Connor, 27, of 40 Commando, were fatally injured in a gun battle last week.

David Cameron told the House of Commons that the country owed "them and all others who have lost their lives a deep debt of gratitude".

Responding to a question from Jim Shannon MP, Mr Cameron said that those in the Royal Medical Corp did a ''fantastic job''.
