Autumn Statement: What to expect from the chancellor
The chancellor is planning to announce billions of pounds worth of investment, funded by further cuts in spending, when he delivers his Autumn Statement on Wednesday.
George Osborne is expected to tell MPs that at least £5bn will be spent on new schools and other infrastructure projects as the government tries to boost economic growth.
However, Labour says the move shows ministers were wrong to cut their own building plans in 2010.
