Lib Dem Jo Swinson: 'I'm sure we have lessons to learn'

Junior equalities minister Jo Swinson has addressed the Liberal Democrat conference, giving her account of some the problems the party has had to confront.

She defended her handling of allegations against former senior Lib Dem Lord Rennard - allegations which he has denied - saying it was a case of trying to deal with it in the best way.

She told conference that this was part and parcel of a wider problem, adding society was stuck in the past.
