Prorogue in Parliament: Peers and MPs leave till Queen's Speech

MPs and peers take part in an ancient ritual on Thursday afternoon, leading to the prorogation of Parliament, and the end of sittings for nearly two weeks.

BBC Parliament's Daniel Brittain explains the strange customs that bring the session to a close, and why the Commons and Lords will not be sitting until the Queen's Speech on 8 May.
