Sex offence suspects' DNA records 'deleted'

The DNA profiles of thousands of suspected sex offenders are being deleted from the national database because of Home Office incompetence, Labour claims.

In England and Wales a ban on keeping indefinitely the records of those held but not charged with rape comes into effect in October.

The Home Office has ordered forces to delete such records ahead of time.
