Tony Blair sets out view on immigration debate

Former Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair said he thought it was "dangerous and wrong" for political leaders to think they could deal with people's fears about jobs and opportunities by blaming people coming into the country for "holding them back".

In a speech in London in early June after the European elections, Mr Blair said people had to distinguish between justifiable concerns and the desire for order, and a prejudice which was neither pleasant or very fruitful.
