Lib Dem conference: Nick Clegg warns 'two unions hang in balance'

The future of the United Kingdom could be at risk if it votes in favour of leaving the EU, the former Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg has warned.

In a speech at his party's conference in Bournemouth, Mr Clegg said the country could be "pulled apart", with the SNP using the vote to "persuade the people of Scotland to leave the UK as well".

He also challenged voters to consider what sort of country they wanted and what the UK's role in the world should be.
