British weapons being used in Yemen, admits Hammond

Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has called for "proper investigations" into Saudi airstrikes in Yemen.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Newsnight's Emily Maitlis, he acknowledged that British weapons are being used in the conflict.

He said that Saudi assurances that their use was in compliance with international humanitarian law were "not enough", adding that the UK would halt weapons exports to the Kingdom if it was found to have breached international law.
