Boris Johnson will not run for leader, May and Gove will

Boris Johnson has announced that he is not a candidate to become the next Conservative leader.

His decision came just hours after Justice Secretary Michael Gove, his colleague in the leave campaign, said he would run for leader.

Earlier, the Home Secretary Theresa May, who campaigned to stay in the EU, announced she would be standing.

Political editor Laura Kuenssberg reports on the start of a contest that will lead to a new prime minister for the UK.
