John Major Brexit speech 'sad and bitter' - Iain Duncan Smith

Former Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith has told BBC Newsnight that Sir John Major’s intervention into the Brexit debate "strangely bitter" and "rather sad".

In a speech on Monday in London, the former Tory prime minister said Britons were being offered an "unreal and over-optimistic" vision of what leaving the EU will look like.
