'Stop ganging up on Philip Hammond'

Former Chancellor Norman Lamont has said it is not right for cabinet ministers to gang up on Philip Hammond over calls to end the public sector pay gap.

Mr Lamont told the Today programme it makes the Chancellor's position very awkward. He argues just because voters reject the idea of austerity does not mean we should abandon it.
