In defence of joke diplomacy - Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson has told MPs jokes can be a "very effective way of getting your diplomatic message across".

He spoke about the role of humour in diplomacy during a meeting of the Commons Foreign Affairs Committee after its chair Tom Tugendhat referred to sales of prosecco - the subject of a Brexit-related joke by the foreign secretary earlier this year.
