Labour MP accuses Tories of wrecking bid to lower voting age

Labour's Jim McMahon has claimed Tory MPs deliberately made long speeches during an earlier debate "to reduce the amount of time" available to debate his bid to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote in general elections.

Deputy Commons Speaker Eleanor Laing rejected the claim.
