Audio of John McDonnell's 2014 'lynching' remark

Shadow chancellor John McDonnell has faced criticism for a 2014 remark he made that referred to Esther McVey.

Speaking at a comedy night, Mr McDonnell quoted someone saying they wanted to "lynch" the Conservative politician, who has recently been made work and pensions secretary.

A recording of his remark was played on the BBC's Sunday Politics.
