Brexit: Worries for the future over EU citizens scheme

As the UK prepares to leave the EU on 31 January, EU citizens currently living in the UK are applying to the settlement scheme allowing them to remain in the UK after Brexit.

Guillermo, who is Spanish but was born and raised in the UK, has applied to stay via the EU settlement scheme and worries this isn't the end of the process.

Members of the European Parliament have said they have "grave concern" about aspects of the government's plan to safeguard the rights of EU citizens in the UK after Brexit.

Anyone living here by the end of the year can apply to stay, and the government says their rights to live and work will be permanently protected by law.
