Tolbooth Museum wants artefacts back

An Aberdeenshire museum threatened with closure last year has reported record visitor numbers.

Volunteers took over the Tolbooth in Stonehaven to ensure its survival.

The museum was officially opened in 1963 by the Queen Mother.

The local council has refused to hand back important local exhibits including the Queen Mother's autograph.
