Rare 19th Century student gown restored in Glasgow

Student clothing is rarely considered a valuable museum piece but a university gown from the 19th Century has been painstakingly restored by a specialist centre at Glasgow University.

The Textile Conservation Centre has spent months conserving the piece to give a unique insight into student life.
