Rare early aerial photos of Scotland go online

A bird's-eye-view of the changing face of Scotland over the past century is revealed in thousands of rare aerial photographs being made available to view online.

They show the firths of Forth and Tay without road bridges and trams running along Edinburgh's Princes Street.

The photographs were restored and digitised by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland.

BBC Scotland's social affairs correspondent Reevel Alderson has been browsing the archive.
