Why Scottish Olympian Eric Liddell is celebrated in China

The Scottish Olympic hero, Eric Liddell, who inspired the movie Chariots of Fire is to be honoured in China.

The city of Weifang, where Liddell died in a Japanese prison camp, is planning a new museum featuring his story.

Liddell, who won gold at the Paris games in 1924, spent most of his life in China and is already celebrated there.

BBC Scotland's Glenn Campbell reports.

Eric Liddell: A Champion's Life will be broadcast on BBC Two Scotland at 22:00 BST on Monday 23 July.
