Scottish mountain rescue teams affected by police plan

With the mountains attracting increasing numbers of climbers and walkers, the efforts of Scotland's 1,000 mountain rescue team volunteers are more vital than ever.

Police co-ordinate mountain rescues while the teams carry them out.

The amalgamation of Scotland's eight police forces to one single force covering the country in April 2013 will undoubtedly alter that relationship.
