Scottish independence: Alex Salmond says referendum deal 'not done yet'

Scotland's first minister has said no deal has been finalised on the referendum on Scottish independence.

Alex Salmond said he was optimistic an agreement could be reached soon, but there were still a few loose ends to tie up.

Prime Minister David Cameron has said he will meet the first minister next week to agree the final deal.

Mr Salmond said speculation on the terms was not helpful, adding: "The agreement is not done until it is finished and you must not preempt these things because there are a couple of issues which are still being talked through."
