150 years of Butt of Lewis lighthouse

The 150th anniversary of the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse is being celebrated this month.

Located at the most northerly headland of the Isle of Lewis, it is known to mariners all over the world.

The marine navigational aid was built by the Stevenson brothers, Thomas and David.

Thomas was the father of author Robert Louis of "Treasure Island" fame.
