Could MSPs replace stamp duty with a new land tax?

MSPs are to discuss scrapping stamp duty on properties and replacing it with a new Scottish land tax.

Finance Secretary John Swinney has said he will use the reform to help first-time buyers.

Mr Swinney has also said he will ask those further up the property ladder to pay more.
