GPs and patients voice concern over first Uist pharmacy

Doctors have warned that plans to open the first pharmacy on Uist could threaten jobs and close GP surgeries where drugs are currently dispensed.

It is also feared that patients may have to travel up to 30 miles to collect a prescription if a pharmacy is established on Benbecula.

The company behind the bid has said it is trying to improve healthcare provision.
