Exhibition shows how the Tudors set fashion trends

A new exhibition will show the extent to which royalty influenced fashion trends in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The costumes have been chosen to denote rank, status, and particular events, and both Henry VIII and Elizabeth I brought in laws dictating who could wear what at each level of society.

In fine style: the art of Tudor and Stuart fashion is on display at the Queen's Gallery, Edinburgh, from 14 March to 20 July 2014.

BBC Scotland's arts correspondent Pauline McLean has been to see the exhibition.
