Aberdeen up for 'most dismal town'

Aberdeen is among the nominees for the Carbuncle award, given to the "most dismal town in Scotland".

Also known as the Plook on the Plinth, it is the award nobody wants to win and usually goes to towns with an obvious need for regeneration.

The front runner for this year's Carbuncle award is Aberdeen with organisers describing it as "the city where architecture goes to die".

Cumbernauld, Kirkintilloch, Leven and Lochgelly have also been nominated.

BBC Scotland's Kevin Keane reports.
