Conservative council leader Gordon Kemp 'disappointed'

A series of Welsh council leaders have lost their seats, including Vale of Glamorgan, council leader Gordon Kemp.

The Conservative lost his seat to an Independent.

Mr Kemp told BBC Radio Wales his party's Westminster coalition government with the Liberal Democrats was taking some "difficult decisions" and was struggling to get its message across.

Other leaders who have lost are Allan Pritchard in Caerphilly, Keith Evans in Ceredigion, Jeff Edwards in Merthyr, and Ron Davies in Wrexham.
