Post-traumatic stress disorder: Struggle with mental wounds of war

Are we prepared for the fall-out of war?

220,000 military veterans live in Wales. Many settle back in to civilian life, but some struggle, and the mental wounds of war can take their toll.

Eye On Wales asks if enough is being done to help veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Falklands veteran Paul Bromwell, 49, from the Rhondda Valley, told Selma Chalabi about his experience when he returned home.

He said he would suffer flashbacks and lost all his friends because of his drinking and violent behaviour.

Eye on Wales is on BBC Radio Wales on Sunday 24 June at 13:00 BST
