Metal theft crackdown 'success' in Caerphilly county

Police targeting metal thefts in south east Wales have described a major three week operation to crack down on the crime as a "massive success".

British Transport Police - in conjunction with Gwent Police - are in the final week of the operation and have made over 20 arrests and recovered thousands of pounds of material within the Caerphilly county borough area.

Det Insp Mark Cleland from British Transport Police said they hoped to expand the operation.
