Caerphilly council's Anthony O'Sullivan gave himself a £27k pay rise

A council chief executive has been accused of awarding himself a £27,000 pay rise in secret.

Anthony O'Sullivan, head of Caerphilly council, has had the top end of his pay grade risen from a maximum of £131,000 to £158,000.

Unions and councillors say a report written by Mr O'Sullivan recommending a pay rise was not available to the public or to the majority of councillors.
