April Jones: Police believed they would find missing five-year-old

A 47-year-old man has been found guilty of abducting and murdering April Jones.

The Mold Crown Court jury returned its verdict on Mark Bridger of Ceinws, Powys after a trial lasting four weeks.

April, five, was reported missing after playing with her friend near her Machynlleth home on 1 October, 2012.

Insp Gareth Thomas advised Dyfed-Powys Police on the search for April - the biggest in British police history.

Reporter Mark Hutchings asked him if it was frustrating to think that the man in custody could save the police time and give them April's location.
