Public money 'wasted' on Llangollen kung fu lodge plan

The Welsh government has been heavily criticised for wasting millions of pounds of public money on a failed scheme to turn a derelict hotel into a kung fu centre in Denbighshire.

In a report, the Public Accounts Committee said its inquiry into the purchase of the River Lodge in Llangollen had exposed flaws in civil service systems and processes which left it "deeply uneasy".

The Welsh government said it would carefully consider the report.
