Cardiff hit-and-run: Map map shows Matthew Tvrdon's 'journey of mayhem'
A hit-and-run driver killed a mother after deliberately setting out to knock over the woman and her children like "skittles", Cardiff Crown Court has heard.
Matthew Tvrdon, 32, drove his van on a "journey of mayhem" for eight miles over 30 minutes on 19 October 2012.
Karina Menzies, 31, died and 17 others were hurt at five locations in Cardiff.
Tvrdon, who has paranoid schizophrenia, has admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and seven counts of attempted murder.
He will be sentenced on Thursday.
The map shows the route Tvrdon took that afternoon. He drove down Cowbridge Road West in Ely, where Ms Menzies was killed and at least seven others injured.
He then moved to Grand Avenue hitting a mother and her two children. He drove down the A4232 link road from Culverhouse Cross to the Leckwith retail park and attacked three people with a steering rack.
Tvrdon ran over two women after one tried to remonstrate with him. They suffered multiple injuries.
From there he drove down Hadfield Road and onto Penarth Road, where he was stopped by police near Baron's Court restaurant.
