Newport shooting: Man describes 'awful' aftermath

A man has described the aftermath of a shooting in Newport, south Wales, in which a woman died and was seriously injured.

Armed police were called to Seabreeze Avenue near the city's Willenhall Street at 08:45 BST on Thursday after reports of gunshots.

Both were taken to Royal Gwent Hospital where the woman, 46, died. A 49-year-old man is undergoing surgery.

Neighbours reported the two had been married but were estranged.
