Family's anger at Conwy care home closure

Relatives of an elderly woman at one of two care homes being closed in the Conwy area say they were left with just weeks to find new accommodation.

Woodfold care home in Rhos on Sea and Tandderwen in Colwyn Bay will shut on 2 September, after administrators said they were unable to find buyers for the businesses.

The administrators for the homes said they would be working with residents and relatives to help find alternative homes, and support staff facing losing their jobs.

One resident at the Woodfold home has been 78-year-old Margaret Robinson who suffered a stroke two-and-a-half-years ago.

Her cousin, Robert Winchurch, from Glan Conwy, explained how the closure announcement had affected the family.
