Cardiff Bay pioneer Sir Geoffrey Inkin dies

The man who led the redevelopment of Cardiff's docklands into Cardiff Bay, Sir Geoffrey Inkin, has died at the age 78 after a short illness.

During his time as chairman of the Cardiff Bay Development Corporation, from 1987 to 2000, the barrage was built across the Cardiff mudflats, and homes, offices and leisure facilities sprang up along the waterfront.

Daniel Davies looks back at his career.
