Wales tops drug poisoning table

There are more deaths from drugs in Wales than any area of England and it is mostly men., figures show.

Last year, 131 people died in Wales as a result of drugs misuse, according to the data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

That works out as 45.8 deaths per one million people - much higher than in England where there are 25.4 deaths per one million people.

Clive Wolfendale, chief executive of drug and alcohol charity CAIS, told Wales Today's Jamie Owen why he thought Wales finds itself in this position.
