Capt Thomas Clarke: Brigadier's tribute to Afghanistan pilot

A brigadier has paid tribute to an Army pilot who died when his helicopter crashed in Afghanistan.

Brigadier Neil Sexton, Deputy Commander Army Air Corps, said Capt Thomas Clarke, 30, from Cowbridge, was a "highly respected and talented Army aviation officer".

Capt Clarke was one of the Army Air Corps pilots of a Lynx helicopter which came down in Kandahar province, 30km from the border with Pakistan last month.

His funeral procession will be held at Holy Cross Church, Cowbridge, and a private ceremony at Coychurch crematorium, Bridgend, on Monday.
