National Grid's pylon route for Powys and Shropshire

A route for a £300m new line of pylons linking wind farms in mid Wales has been unveiled after five years of work.

Plans for hundreds of turbines in Montgomeryshire have already faced opposition.

A final decision on these has yet to be made by the Department of Energy (DoE).

National Grid's consultation - including on 13 miles of overhead power lines - is on work which it hopes can start by 2019.
